Where: Lotus Garden
Teacher: Lopön Jann Jackson
For Whom: open to practitioners of all levels, including beginners

All beings long for happiness and freedom from suffering, yet we continue to engage in deeply ingrained negative actions of body, speech and mind that keep us bewildered and dissatisfied. The Buddha taught that the way to overcome these negative actions, the path to liberation, requires careful examination of our perceptions of ourselves and the world around us. By developing mindfulness of body, feelings, mind and phenomena, we can develop confident understanding of cause and effect, and discover the inherent and natural state of freedom.
This program will enable students to hear the Buddha’s foundational teachings on mindfulness. The program will include deepened investigation into and meditation upon our perceptions and experience of the body, feelings, mind and phenomena. The Buddha’s teachings on the four noble truths, the five skandhas, the eighteen dhatus, and the twelve nidanas will be taught in light of these investigations. Through these skillful means, students will learn how their experience of themselves and their worlds are created and maintained. By seeing the vivid yet impermanent qualities of experience, students can deepen their renunciation toward the causes of suffering, and gain the courage needed to walk the path to liberation.
There will an introductory talk on the evening of Friday, March 19th at 8pm, after which each day of the program will include short dharma teachings on the four foundations of mindfulness, followed by the opportunity for discussion and extensive periods of contemplation & meditation. The program will end at 4:00pm on Sunday, March 21st.
This retreat is open to practitioners of all levels, including beginners.
The tuition for this program will be $185. (10% discount for members paying $50/m or more). Online registration is open.
