Mindrolling International and the Dharmashri Online Portal are delighted to announce that Minling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche will bestow teachings on the practice of Guru Yoga to the Mindrolling International sangha.  This online program will be held over two weekends:

  • Friday, December 13th through Sunday, December 15th, 2024
  • Saturday, December 21st and Sunday, December 22nd, 2024

Registration will open on the Dharmashri Online Portal on Monday, November 11th, 2024.

Guru Yoga is known as the single essence of all Dharma paths and is an essential daily practice for all Vajrayana practitioners.  The depth and profundity of the practice of Guru Yoga is beyond words, and developing and understanding devotion is critical for all dharma practitioners.  Guru Yoga is a life-long practice for meditators and must be continuously accomplished.

Through the practice of mixing one’s mind with the Guru’s mind, one receives blessings, dispels obstacles, accumulates merit, and purifies negativities.  In short everything on the path of Dharma is accomplished, and one enjoys the blessings and protection of the Three Jewels and Three Roots.  One becomes a source of benefit and happiness for beings and ultimately attains supreme accomplishment.

Minling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche will bestow teachings on The Downpour of Blessings: The Profound Path of Guru Yoga, composed by Chögyal Terdag Lingpa, which has been the main Guru Yoga practice for Mindrolling since its founding.  Through Rinpoche’s commentary and instructions on this Guru Yoga of Guru Rinpoche, each student will have the full transmission and explanation needed to walk the path of Guru Yoga in all its profundity and depth.

In the first weekend of the program, Rinpoche will bestow teachings and instructions on Guru Yoga and the second weekend will have sessions for reviewing the teachings, questions and answers, and group practice.  Then the Mindrolling International sangha will engage in a group accumulation of one million recitations of the Vajra Guru mantra.

This teaching and practice program is strongly encouraged for all students in the Mindrolling International Mandala. This includes all study group members in Europe and North America, those who have taken part in the Vajra Assembly, the Practice Intensive at Minling Lotus Garden, the Great Chariot Online cycle, or the cycle of Nagarjuna’s Letter to a Friend Online.  Thus the sangha will have a single practice wherein all students, new and old, can join.  It is our hope that sangha members around the world will join in and do this practice together on auspicious days throughout the year.

The practice liturgy will be available online during the practice sessions.

The program will be on the Dharmashri Online Portal and will be translated into Czech, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Polish, and Spanish.
