The Mindrolling Sangha is deeply saddened by the passing of Lodi Gyari Rinpoche on the 29th of October 2018. Recognized as the incarnation of the great Jampal Dewe’i Nyima and born as a cousin of Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen, Gyari Rinpoche had a special and deep connection with Mindrolling. This was a connection that was nurtured and grew throughout his lifetime.
Gyari Rinpoche served as the Special Envoy for the Dalai Lama, foreign minister in the Central Tibetan Administration, Executive Chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet and was co-founder of the Tibetan Youth Congress among many other titles and positions. He worked tirelessly his entire life on behalf of the Tibetan people through his diplomatic efforts with the Chinese government and was also renowned in Washington, DC not only as a great diplomat for the Tibetan cause but also as a teacher and advocate for how to seek understanding and create peace through the awareness that all nations and all people are interconnected.
The entire Mindrolling Sangha mourns the loss of this great teacher, diplomat, scholar and humanitarian and offer our prayers and aspirations.
